The Strata Origin Story
Early on, Nate Shaffer envisioned establishing a construction company dedicated to crafting custom homes. Although his journey began with a study of architecture in his first college year, he soon realized that his passion lay beyond the confines of a drafting table.
Nate transitioned into construction management, contributing to the development of notable structures, including casinos, in the bustling city of Las Vegas. A move to the picturesque community of St. George led Nate to explore the real estate landscape.
What he found was a market where customers were often overcharged, and the overall experience fell short of expectations.
Determined to address these shortcomings, Nate envisioned a construction company that could offer an exceptional home-building experience. Leveraging his years of experience in real estate, he intimately understood the desires of families in the area. This realization became the foundation for a new venture – a company committed not only to constructing homes but to providing families with an extraordinary experience.
Enter Tanner Garfield, a professional from the commercial construction sector. Their paths crossed later in the journey, and recognizing a shared commitment to excellence, Nate and Tanner decided to unite their expertise and visions.
The turning point occurred when they collaborated on building and selling a home together. It was a moment of revelation – the realization that they held the potential to create a construction company that was truly special.
